Sophie most recently acted as the sole writer for an unannounced Duplass Brothers Productions Donut series, as well as the lead writer for In the Keeper’s Shadow, an immersive third-person narrative adventure game produced by Bay Area studio Lonely Egg. In the past, she has worked as a branching narrative consultant for previous Duplass Brothers Productions Donut projects.

A San Francisco Bay Area native, raised by an electrical engineer and a forensic biologist who named their cats after Battlestar Galactica characters, Sophie spent her formative years exposed to and exploring various forms of artistic expression instead of socializing. This resulted in the desire to become an artist, severely disappointing her parents.

She moved to Los Angeles, where she graduated summa cum laude from Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film and Television with a BA in Screenwriting. She cut her teeth in entertainment by working in creative development for film and television, before lending her writing talents to independent video games.

Sophie’s writing spans both mediums and genres, and includes television, features, stageplays, video games & interactive narratives, essays, and prose. She adores fantasy and science fiction, though grounds all her work in character and human interaction. She has a special love for comedy, and frequently recurring elements found in her work include loneliness, loss, guilt, mental health, and dick jokes.

Sophie currently lives in Los Angeles with her partner and their two psychotic cats, Momo and Morty, where she spends her time writing, reading, playing video games, and forcing her friends to play DnD.
